The Erickson table was inspired by traditional Scandinavian furniture with a contemporary minimalist aesthetic and contemporary means of production. The table legs and rack are made of hardwood and fastened together with stainless steel screws. The table surface and apron are made of HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) and are cut and engraved using a CNC Router. HDPE is a highly recyclable plastic that is often used for detergent and other liquid containers. At the end of the table’s life span the plastic can be recycled with other common household plastics. When it is cut it reveals a different color on the inside. The Erickson Table was designed to be completely disassembled and reassembled using only mechanical fasteners. The engraving in the surface is traditional Norwegian rosemaling.
